65th Show and Tell Contest: Shapes, Patterns, Textures No2!

There was a problem with the main thread, so I opened this as a temporary one. The original thread is now fixed, but, please post your entries here. I will keep looking at both, so don't worry if you have posted on the other one - you're in the contest!

I have extended the closing time to compensate. It is now 8am (GMT) on Sunday 18 November 2007.

The theme for the 64th Show and Tell Contest: Patterns, Shapes, Textures

I hope the theme is self-explanatory, but please ask in this thread if you are not sure.

The way I'd like to judge it is this. I will look at pictures as they are posted in this thread. Please post a link to the full size version, as I'd like to see it. I'll assess the image against the theme. I'll look at composition, colour, narrative and technical quality. And a lot will be subjective too, my emotional response to it.

I will draw up a short-list as I go. I hope that way I can make a fairly quick decision when the contest ends.

Hope you enjoy this week's Topic.

Hi neikirk,

Thought I would enter a couple of shots - hope they meet the standards

From the olive groves of Corfu, I found the closeup of the slates and the texture of the walls very appealing

A bit of fun with this shot really - taken whilst driving through Liverpool at night. A tricky thing to get right, but the petterns and the abstractness of the shot is quite satisfying.

A peaceful and relective shot of rowing boats on the Dee in Chester, UK.
