Thanks to all that entered! Some really great shots with many different interpretations. Please note that some images were not eligible due to infractions of the rules (size, number, etc.)

As a side note, I found that adding a title to a post was sometimes detrimental, everyone sees things in their own way and I found myself often enjoying an image on a different level than what the poster intended with their title. But that’s just me, I've been wrong before... so many times! lol

So here goes...

Honorable mention goes to:

Brennan Shortall

Joseph G

Nick Vivian

(you have to be a crazy photographer to get in a canoe in hippo country!)

3rd Place
Kartik Budhraja's capture of multiple lightning strikes with the detail of one.

2nd Place
David Ramos Martin's returning to the seen of the most powerful image I have ever seen (Tiannamen Square: man vs. tank).

1st Place
Justin Rayner's powerful portrayal of life’s struggle.

Over to you Justin..

Well, glad you asked. The contest was POWER, figuratively or literally. I based my judging solely upon how the composition portrayed the 'feeling of being there' and included some force at work. I would say that wind literally reshaping the natural form of a tree, which in turn had to struggle everyday of its existence against it, was a pretty good example of POWER. When I look at that entry I can feel the wind, hear the surf crashing below and soak up the warmth of the sun of my face. Now thats POWER!
