Boy, this one makes me envious of where some folk here live!

Less than a mile from my home, the Essex Mountain Sanatorium complex in Essex County New Jersey was used for tuberculosis patients from 1908 to 1977. The facility also treated World War 1 veterans and took in overflow from the nearby Overbrook psychiatric hospital. The buildings have since been destroyed.

How about just a few yards from my home? Just across the road from my front door is a corn field that is owned and managed by a local dairy farm. Besides the rows of dried corn stalks, there is also an abundance of dried out weeds and grasses that catch the late afternoon sun and reflect back a variety of rich burnt-orange, gold, yellow, and brown colors.

I closed down the aperture and slowed down the shutter speed to capture
the motion of the leaves as they blew horizontally in the wind while the
stalks remained vertical and still

Not sure if this is a member of the thistle family. Regardless, it is an example of the many things that caught my
eye besides the corn stalks.

4 miles from the house looking back about 1/8 of it

Shooting from with in the 5 mile radius to outside the radius and using the mile long train to link the 2

Only 4 miles from the house and thankfully wasn't 5 miles up
