One of the particularly tricky challenges in photography is conveying the sense of scale. The Grand Canyon is the perfect example. Unless one has seen it, no photograph, no matter how perfectly composed, exposed, and displayed, will ever capture the essence of seeing the view by yourself. But that does not stop us from trying. So here is this weeks challenge. Show us your images that try to capture either the scale of an overall scene, or the drastic differences between large and small, even where small may be a relative term and really isn't all that small at all. Here are some meek examples from my collection;

The Empire State Building. What more can I say?

The Half Moon . Even though this ship is over 100 feet long and sailed the Atlantic, it pales in the shadows of the Hudson Highlands, the hills along the river Henry Hudson first sailed up in the early 1600's.

Hopefully you get the idea. Good luck to all, and again, thanks to Fishit for putting me in this position. :D

This contest will close on Saturday, January 30, at 12:00 Noon Eastern Standard Time.

See the rules below, and good luck to all of you.

Well, I titled this one "Question of Scale" since the day I posted it, so I'll offer it up, despite various shortcomings ...
