It was hard to select a winner and it changed every time I kept looking at all the entries. In the end I decided to go mostly for the "gesture" component of the picture. The hands, the eyes, the body etc, something that conveys an emotion when looking at the image.
Again, I thank you for posting.

Here are the Honorable Mentions in no particular order
I like the contrast in facial expression in this couple
I like the pensive gesture in what seems a crowded environment
This would have been just an average image if it wasn't for the change in perspective. There is a lesson there.
I just like this one and the body gesture
Great expression with the body and the faces
Good contrast between old and new
THIRD PLACE
These type of shots are very tough to take because the photographer is basically confronting the person and the outcome of the situation is not always good. The gesture is strong.
SECOND PLACE
This could have easily been the first choice. The gesture is strong. If the shot would have been just the beggar then I wouldn't have selected it ( I don't usually shoot beggars or homeless) but the contrast and most importantly the unintended composition make it a strong shot.
FIRST PLACE
This is a great capture. I like the colors on the scene and the expression on the girl's face, it's a great facial gesture. Congratulations!
