This photo (one in a series) was taken on one of The Galapagos Islands. As I look at this photo, my brain still screams WOW - Mother Nature is incredible!
The Nazca Boobie was no more than 2 or 3 feet away from us. The egg had just hatched and mom had the newborn on top of her feet to protect it from the scorching sun overhead. Her feet have a thermoregulating ability to maintain the newborn's core temp.

These birds are usually seen in the sky looking for prey / as they cannot land on top of the water ..... they'll drown.
