wow, what an amazing collection of images. a massive thanks to everyone who entered. I really enjoyed picking the winner, and by golly it was hard to differentiate between them. Such a high standard in this comp.

I really love this one.. it has everything... a foreground, middle ground and background combined with texture, colours and movement.

3rd place:
amoxtli - For me, this is a real anomoly as I am really not into city photos as I think they are fairly easily reclipable, but I was captivated by this incredible reflection, a deep blue sky, and pin-sharp definition. Everything comes together to make this a stunning capture.

Pete - I loved the feeling of depth and mystery in this photo, and it works really well in black and white. I admire your interpretation of the theme, and the risk paid off
In an animal behaviours competition, your seals pic would be way up there, and I have voted for it in my support.
I really wanted to squeeze it into the top 3, but the primary focus was of the pic was the seals not the seascape, so I chose the cave
