Great entries, thanks for all of the wonderful submissions.
While many interesting shots, after looking at them carefully my very top choices evoked an evening feel with people or moving objects in the frame, giving you the mood in the air.
Honorable mentions:
These two, from Mats K and Markus Grompe, are great late night street scenes:
Terry Bowker captures an archetypal view of a meat store at night in so many Asian cities:
The smoke generates a sense of movement in what is an impressive shot of night activity by Arnie Peterschmidt:
Below, technically very high quality, fills the view so well.
I like the shadows in the red reflections and the framed stature to the left of Peter Shultz's picture here. Busy photo but pleasurable to behold, very sharp.
Dennis Camp's image really gives the feel of being on the road late at night. Color cast is perfect, as are the lines bringing you into the image. Nice work.
This wasn't my favorite at first, but the longer I looked at the image below by Juan Leon in original mode, the more I appreciated his incredible success of capturing a moment, a mood; a perfect slice of life where you feel like you can just walk into the image. As if out of Blade Runner. Very well done! And hats off to you now Juan! Congratulations on first place.
