533rd Show & Tell Competition: A tribute to common women. - WINNER

First of all let me thank you for taking part in this competition.
Obviously the classification is based on a single person’s tastes, in this case, on mine, which is merely subjective; it doesn’t meant that the pictures I didn’t consider are worthless,
In every case I’d like to mention the criteria I followed to express my preferences.
For me it was important to find at least a little of technical accuracy, a good control of composition and, last, but not least the presence of a little story conveyed by the picture, which could give me emotion. I could add other details, but it would be tedious.

Here are my choices.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Markus Grompe

I love this picture for many reasons.
The composition and the use or light are remarkable.
I gave it only an honourable mention, because it’s very slightly out of theme, since the presence of the woman is only suggested, while I’d have preferred to see more of her.
But it’s a fantastic shot, Markus.

Ken Zaret

The portrait of lovely Aunt Paulette is full of grace and tenderness. It makes us imagine her wonderful personality.

THIRD PLACE
Walter O. Koenig

Walter’s photography is always an example of accuracy.
What I appreciated in this spontaneous portrait is the harmony of hues and the perfect use of light, which enhances the scene in the nuances of orange and red.
The only touch of cold colour is the green ribbon in Ana’s hair.
Very well composed indeed.

SECOND PLACE

I hesitated between the second and the first place.
I deeply liked this picture at the first sight. It’s original, lively and pleasantly emotional and there is, actually, an interaction between photographer and subject.
The composition is fantastic, with the use of the old window frame. The lady’s smile is priceless.

FIRST PLACE
Gill Kopy

I was overwhelmed by these two lively ladies’ pleasant look.
The photo is a candid, but it has also a precise accuracy.
I love the contrast between the snowfall and the bright colours of the ladies’ dresses. It fulfils completely my idea for this theme: the inner beauty of women, which becomes also an exterior beauty, it doesn’t matter their age.
Nothing artificial, just natural richness of real life.
