Nikon d100 Astrophotos

Post Wed Jun 23, 2004 7:26 pm

Hey all,
I went the the Rocky Mountain Star Stare Party. So I decided to take
a few pictures with my d100. Although these are not the best I have
ever seen, they are kinda neat concidering that they are all 30s
exposures with no stacking. Taken in alt/az, still waiting on a
wedge/ccd camera. I also dewed up pretty bad and was worried about
my front corrector plate, but its clean now. Need to get a dew
buster or something. Hope you guys enjoy the pics, it was also 39
degrees outside.

Hey Brian -

Those are pretty good - especially for 30secs in AltAz!
I look forward to more when you get your wedge.

I like to shoot Astrophotos too - you can see my gallery here:

Pretty awesome pictures you got. I have been messing around with a stacking program it seems to work pretty good, will have to see if it works when I get my wedge. These pictures were more like a "what can I do, with what I have type thing" I think with a bit more practice and a little trial and error I might be able to pull off a good astrophoto with a nikon d100. It seems most people go with the canons, I like both but I had more nikon lenses at the time I purchased the d100. Well happy shooting and Clear Skies.
