Thank you all for so many beautiful winter scenes. Hard to choose the best, it is always a subjective opinion.

Honorable Mentions:

Arnie - an excellent effect of the lines of trees' trumps and branches



Allen - lovely touch of red amongst the white snow



Carol - nicely composed scene, great sunset light and long shadows on the snow



Gill - I like the vertical view and feel of cold in this beautiful place



Third place - Markus - fantastic composition and inclusion of this lantern light against the sunlight on the snowy mountain range tops



Second place - Luxun54 - amazing colors and forms that make winter so beautiful



First place - Szczepan - a fairy tale snow trees, love the slightly blueish tones. And to think one can see such winter in Australia!

Hi Jola,
Thank you for awarding winning place to my entry.
Yes, most people do not associate Australia with snow, it’s mostly beaches and sun.
We went 4W driving in to the mountains for a long weekend.
Day one was warm summer, 30C, the next day was still warm but slightly cooler.
But when we woke up on the 3rd day we got shock of our adventuring life.
Weekend I will never forget.
It’s kind of freaky to win Winter subject competition in the middle of summer:)
