Source for Great Photo Subjects!

Post Fri Jul 09, 2004 6:29 am

In searching for good photo subjects have you ever overlooked something "right in your own backyard?" I don't understand how I could not have noticed before, but the neighbors catty-corner from my backyard have an angelic photogenic little girl, about four. I often talk to the neighbors on all sides of my yard, but seldom have even seen these newer neighbors, except for talking to the man a few times about yardwork. Maybe it's because she was a toddler when they moved in and I really never saw her out playing till this summer. What a find, though! And she even has an adorable chocolate lab doggy! I will now make a point of getting to know these neighbors better...maybe a cherry pie is in order! :D

Here she is!

I snapped the above shots in less than a minute before my other neighbor called me to look at something in her house, where I noticed and snapped these saltwater fish in her aquarium. Some are a bit blurred from motion (late in day and lack of light) but they are gorgeous, aren't they? Another neighbor providing a great photo op! She said I should feel free to come back any time and get more shots. You can be sure I will!

So... check out your neighbors, because they may have some great photo subjects that you weren't aware of!

Thanks, Oz. All I did was point and shoot! I love my Canon Rebel! I was using the Canon 75-300mm lens at the time. Maybe I'll have better luck with the fish tank with a normal lens. Will try to get some with faster shutter soon.
