When I try this kind of shot again, I will try not to blow out all the detail of the moon (maybe try 2 exposures and combine)

With the "300D" (im in europe here so no rebel ;) ) there is no limit when you are doing a "bulb" exposure. In practise you will get too much noise after some time.

Longest ive done is twenty minutes http://www.pbase.com/image/23360872 you can see some red/blue splotches of noise (more in the 100% original), but overall im very impressed.
