It's a lovely image, but it lacks the incredible degree of detail one normally sees in images shot with large format cameras.
Is it possible that this was a poor scan? If so, you might want to try scanning it again and using your image editor's sharpening tools. The picture has a lot of potential, but without the detail and the sharpness it lacks punch.
I agree. You should be looking for more contrast and clarity not only with this but some of your other black and white images I found in your gallery. What do you use for post image processing?
I too am concerned with the lack of detail exhibited with a large format image. This image should be crisp allowing us to see into the depths of this photo. The cascade of the river is intriguing and this image should leave me feeling short of breath.
Sorry but this is the feeling I expect to have when viewing large format images.
I agree with Shoshanna about the possibility of a poor scan. Try again. An image from a large format camera should be crisp even before post processing.
The scans are a big problem for sure. Unfortunately, a new scanner and the associated software would cost enough to reduce the amount of shooting I get to do. For me the first concern has always been the print coming out of the dark rooom, posting on pbase is a secondary consideration. Thanks for the the time and the comments
