Here are two of the same area, a few minutes from my home here on the beautiful south coast of Oregon, but shot from very different perspectives.

The first, "Fog Embracing Cape Sebastian", was taken in winter from a position above the beach and the coast highway looking north to the cape.



The second, "Morning Mist Above The Seastacks", was taken a couple of weeks ago from the top of Cape Sebastian looking south to the beach.

In several ways. I just spent some time along the California central coast and fog was pretty much ever present. While it can interfere with some types of shots, it certainly adds to others.

Some very nice shots in this thread. The right amount of fog can definitely be a photographer's friend. Here's a shot of early morning fog on a lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota.
