Quite interesting insights on pbase-visitors' viewing habits

I've once wanted to compile those pics which my pbase-visitors liked the most. For that I assembled those pics which had the most hits related to the gallery total page views. So the number one pic was opened 35% of all visits to its gallery.

Well the result is quite interesting: besides one pic I didn't really like one of them specially... But nevertheless I think the result is not that suprising (women are quite likely to be looked at more closely...).

To reflect this gallery I therefore posted MY Top 12 next to YOUR Top 12.

I'd really would like to hear of you forum visitors what you think of both galleries and which or which pics you prefer (so take part in poll!)

Exact same thing happens in my galleries. 5-10 or more times the views on ALL girl pics. Good or bad. Their favorites do not compare in the least bit with your favorites. I bet almost everyones galleries will demonstrate this as well. The general public may still like the girls. Go figure huh? I have been curious about this for a couple months now. Nice set-up, I was fixing on doing some of this in the winter when the winter gets bad. Good stuff to study.

Its truely odd there will be a couple of hundred hits on a photo of a girl while the same girl in a much better shot(in my opinion at least) will have 50 hits. Both having the same amount of flesh showing and all. I always find it weird which photos I think would get the must hits verses the photos of the must hits.

From my experience and as all of you have said, girl pictures will get the most hits regardless of quality I have some galleries from the Love Parade and other beach parties no nudes though and they are by far more popular than others.
I think it is to be expected, as humans we are interested in humans and people are usually much more interesting then yet another sunset

Well, you´re right; but I´ve some interesting facts to discuss about this issue:

a) Gif animation of a computer desing does not show any real flesh. But, Erich picture of a nude girl has more clicks than many users counters! (32884 in June 9). So, ILAN, maybe people is not atracted to people, but the ideal of people (or something like that)

b) But Ilan is right. At least 1 of 8 pictures in the last 7 days popular list has a girl. That shows we do really preffer girls more than any other subject (of course photography isn´t about subject completely, I know). We could say; Girls with few or no clothes are the most popular issue when it comes to the last week. It´s easy to understand why girls does not have the first position of all time; The´re a lot of pictures of girls and this site is mostly used in another ways.

c) The weird thing appears when I look at the most popular words in a search. With the data refered we could expect to found Bikini-Nude-Girls (and the rest) in the most populars... But, in comparison, they´re not!. One way to explain it could be; Slug and the team did not put all the words (I´m not saying that... It´s an hipothesis). Another way would be that there is only a few guys who do some regular searchs. Or Maybe I´m just wrong and missed something.
