new here, new gallery, criticism please, ta

Hello, new here and newish to digital photography, six months or so and hope you folks would give me an oppinion on my pictures, its a temporary gallery, is it worth me getting a paid for one ?

Very good work AJ. I quite liked escaped1 and hoverf1. My only critique would be to lower the contrast a bit and work on providing supplementary lighting from a reflector or flash to open up the shadows and get more detail out of those areas. Of course this is just one mans opinion.

sdwindsor, thanks for the lower contrast comment, will try that. Will give the supplimentry lighting a try too where possible, have lastolite reflectors but not easy to use when hand holding a camera whose lens is often only 1 - 2 cm from the siubject. I have to be honest too, I quite like the dark effect and contrast, to me it adds somthing but I may well be wrong. Thank you for the comments.

What is most important is how you feel about your work. I gave you my critique based on my experience. My best advice to you would be to surf about pbase and look at other photographers work and learn by example.
