Many thanks to everyone who entered this week's contest.
I tried to pick a subject which I would enjoy judging and would generate interest - and so many of your entries really are first class and inspire me to get out there with my camera. I must admit that I struggled to judge, with so many good pictures, but eventually I decided all I could go on is what appeals to me - I'm sure I've left behind many fantastic pictures other judges would not have.
So, in keeping with the recent "honourable mentions" theme:-
Honorable mention #3 - by zainabdullah
The colours in this scene (Melaka, Malaysia) set it apart from so many grey city centres I've seen. The view from above sets this picture up for me. I'd recommend a trip to Zain's galleries - some great images in there!
Honorable mention #2 - by Flemming Bo Jensen
As with so many of our images, the medium size just doesn't do this one justice. It's always difficult to get a really memorable picture of somewhere pictured so often, but this one of Sydney Harbour Bridge and cityscape as the light fades is indeed memorable

So what exactly is she thinking? When are we going shopping? Will you just stop playing with that scooter? Boys and their toys? Who knows, but this typical European city candid made me smile.
So on to the winners:-
3rd Place by andyrpthomas
How does one find solitude in a busy City Centre? Well this guy found it right in the centre of London and Andy pictured it perfectly without any other people. A strong contrasty black and white.
2nd Place by Marcel de Jong
I suggest you view this image in it's Original size. It's a fantastic cityscape from a perfectly planned vantage point. The road leads your eye in to the city and the depth and colour of the sky from Marcel's wide angle draw you right in. A wonderful picture - nicely framed too.
1st Place by Gail Sowder
This made me laugh out loud the moment I saw it. A fantastic spot, full of humour with the city centre theme at the heart of it. Strong high contrast mono treatment adds to the effect. Well done Gail. A plug for Gail's galleries too - I take photos - Gail makes art - check out her gallery.
Thanks again everyone for taking the time to enter and over to you Gail for the contest #20
All the best
Colin
PS. A gentle reminder to those entrants who posted large pics - please remember to enter only "MEDIUM" size image links.
