2. Characterized by delicacy of form. Vague or insubstantial
3. Delicately hazy

Synonyms: gossamer, translucent, sheer, airy, of fine texture, transparent, ethereal.

I would first like to thank Donutrun for diving in and posting the first photograph in a somewhat difficult theme.
Once the images started pouring in I realized that “diaphanousâ€

I had never heard of the word "diaphanous" until this contest began. Judging from all the wonderful photos, "diaphanous" is a beautifully delicate word indeed.

It was a delightful contest, thankfully to wonderful theme that was interpreted on so many ways...
It was a chance for all of us to meet some new artists and see some stunning photos that maybe we have missed.
Treas, thank You for giving such a beautiful flare to our precious photo "battle", and for your detailed and thoughtful comments regarding the final entries.
I am honored to have a photo chosen in Your final selection.
Of course, congratulations to the winners!
Regards,
Milos

Thank you so much!!!!!!!
Happiness is winning the show and tell contest!
I know it's polite in such a moment to thank everyone, and make a wise and calm speech but I want you to know that beside the thanks I am really happy and can't get rid of this huge smile ;)
I hope you'll like the new topic.
I can't wait to see your creativity in action.
Good luck all!

Congratulations to Cocameli as well... also very happy to be selected in 2nd place... this topic encouraged my wife and I to try some different shots to fit the theme

To get the lighting inside, I cut a hole in a black card and set it over a lamp... this allowed the light to shine up inside the shell... I removed the hole using PS to get the final image... no other post processing involved... just sharpening for the web... very tempted to make a large print of this one...

Thanks for the encouragement and look forward to the next topic...
