Ready at last!
There were 260 photos submitted by about 100 different authors. The choice was painful, knowing to leave out at least 15-20 great photos (on next days i’ll try to leave comments on all images that were on my finalists list).
A lot of great shots, and many photograpers way better than the judge of this contest... but these are the game’s rules, so let’s go...
Honorable mentions:
Fourth place goes to Ernst Van Loon:
Effective point of view for this lovely threesome. Unusual location too, at least for two out of three..
Third place for Erich Mangl’s hilarious pair:
“These two belong together”, a commenter acutely pointed out. We can only agree.
Second place to Jaac’s moody b/w:
Not easy to guess the whole story, but we feel there is one. Traces of children, and a wall of an old man’s (or maybe an old couple’s) home. Lighting is fantastic and the b/w fits perfectly the mood of the image.
And the winner is....
...... Francisco Figueras from Spain !
These characters could be coming out from some Almodovar’s movie, and i find the striped one absolutely priceless. Francisco is a master to catch the humorous and the theatrical in the street life, so that his genuinely candid images seem sometimes to come from the fantasy of a director. Congratulazioni señor Figueira, next S&T contest will be up to you.
Thanks all for giving me a great time hosting the 83rd Show and Tell
Best regards from Napoli
Mario
