Great to see a fast PBase response on this. I'm not a believer in it, but giving the customers what they want is a good thing. Thumbs high!

At this point it is still possible to right click on an image in slideshow mode.

shawnkraus is correct, except that an image in slide show mode is typically smaller, so that when saved by right-clicking, the file size is very small - so not really anything to be concerned about as far as the recipient being able to make any kind of quality print.

While I think right-click disable is a pretty worthless way to keep people from stealing your images, I gotta admit this is pretty slick. The implementation is very well done, especially the clarification that it can be circumvented if someone really wants to steal your photo. But the fact that you can enable or disable it globally for all your images without having to do individual javascripts on each one is pretty handy. I think I may actually use it as a method to let right-clickers know they're welcome to ask me for an image if they're interested.

Nicely done.

Well done PBase! Regardless if I use it or not, a lot of members wanted it and it's a good addition and response to the requests.

Thanks for the fast response. While not a big deal to some, this is a great feature to others. We appreciate it!

One thing... not being negative in the least, I am very happy with the fast response - in the screen for that option, its stated that its easily bypassed and not a secure method. Is there a method OR could there be a secure method? Be it code that is selective used or some other message. I have read the others posts from the past few years - but would like to know about future upgrades from the Admin staff?

Again...Thanks.

It was just pointed out to me on another post that I started where I said that this issue was FIXED, that it is actually not - read on...
User jypsee - pointed out to me that he could still drag any of my images to his desktop and it would copy there.

I tried dragging an image and it won't on my system using IE7 - however, I tried Firefox and Safari and he is correct, you can drag the pic using Firefox or Safari and it will copy to the desktop. I'm not sure that it worries me at all as 95% or so of Internet PC users use Internet Explorer. Mac is another story, but having someone copy my images wasn't much of a worry for me in the first place as most of my posted images range from 70k to 150K in size, so no one can really produce much of a print from them anyway.
It is kind of flattering in a way that someone would like my work enough to want it for themselves.

Update - It has been brought to my attention that I am incorrect in stating that 95% of internet users use IE.
I stand corrected, Thanks :D

Where did you get the 95% estimate? I have no idea what the true number is, but any figures I've seen suggest a much higher (and increasing) share for other browsers, for example this page shows IE at about two thirds of all internet users:

Further to my previous post, I've been reading the other threads and see that someone else already raised the same issue about the proportion of IE users ... I didn't mean to labour the point.

Question: Can you disable right click for thumbnails at galleries?
Answer: No. This would require a lot of code on each page to "protect" ( I use that term loosely) very small images/thumbnails.
