style sheet codes

Post Tue May 26, 2009 12:44 pm

Hello,

I want to edit some of the 11 different Pbase Original Template Stylesheets:
http://www.pbase.com/stylesheets/original_template

For instance I like Black and White but I want to change the background black
into yellow. I guess this is possible, but therefore I need the code of this stylesheet
is 'n it?

a/ Where can I find the codes of all these stylesheets?
Especially I need the codes of Alexc, and Black and White.
b/ Is is possible to edit your stylesheet in IE7 or do you need Firefox?

TIA!

A good starting point is the first sticky thread in this forum, Arjun wrote an excellent tutorial that has been built on by other users.

Display the style sheet you like. Click view->page source (mozilla) or view->source (IE) and the first five lines will look something like this:

<html lang="en-US"><head>
<title>alexc Photo Gallery by Stylesheet Defaults at pbase.com</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://i.pbase.com/styles/gallery2.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://css.pbase.com/styles/16269.css">
<base href="http://www.pbase.com">

Highlight and copy this part of the fourth line: http://css.pbase.com/styles/16269.css (This is the style sheet for alexc)

Then paste this in your browser address line and this is the style sheet you can copy and paste into creating a new style sheet with your modifications.
