209th Show & Tell Competition: Energy

Post Fri Sep 16, 2011 5:31 am

The energy of mountain people in Laos

Of kids in a Kontum school

And the energy of water (producing another kind of energy) at the Hoa Binh hydroplant in Vietnam.

Actually I won once with the following image, taken a few minutes before. So I guess I cannot use it again....

Hard to avoid confusion between movement and energy.
Or it would be considered as same ?

Well, anything in movement has cinetic energy, the water of a reservoir has potencial energy, I'm asking for pics of things that are/can/produce/show anything relative to the name energy, in the broader meaning of the word.

Sorry for the confusion, English is not my native language as I'm sure you already know.

From Wikipedia:
In physics, energy (Greek: ἐνέργεια energeia "activity, operation"[1]) is an indirectly observed quantity. It is often understood as the ability a physical system has to do work on other physical systems.[2][3] Since work is defined as a force acting through a distance (a length of space), energy is always equivalent to the ability to exert pulls or pushes against the basic forces of nature, along a path of a certain length.
