Thanks to everyone who participated in this contest. I knew this was going to be
a tough one, picking the best of the best, and from every kind of photography, from
landscape... to nature... to macro... I felt like I was on The Voice or American Idol! I got
down to 15 and just agonized.
First the honorable mentions, in no particular order, that were all a hair's breath
from being finalists.
Peter Stubley
All great shots, Peter, I opted for this amazing macro. There’s a whole world inside
these water droplets. As a newbie to macro, I'm in awe!
Andrzej muda
This kind of light isn’t easy to find and even harder to shoot. It usually takes
planning and getting up very early, probably in the cold for this one. I can only
imagine how early you had to get up for this shot, Andrzej! The light is amazing.

Just love how the warm light brings out the wonderful amber colors of this
beautiful leopard. So hard to get this close to these illusive creatures in the wild.
What a great capture.
Mother Nature certainly has a sense of humor in her many unusual creations.
What at a super capture. Can’t help but chuckle at the sight of this curious crab.
Flo Hendry
Always have loved this shot. How clever you are Flo, to notice the horse’s shadow
in it's beautiful eye, and catch it so perfectly.
Third place - Dima & Nelya
A well-deserved third place to this incredibly sharp and very colorful capture. Having done a
little underwater photography long ago, I know what you mean about fish not usually
cooperating, and how hard it is to stop action in the low light below the surface of the sea.
I just love how this guy has his fabulous orange eye on you.
Second Place - Jim Smith (smithjim500)
I’m a sucker for a beautiful scene, and this one is certainly that, and more. Here is a
down low perspective of a wild and wonderful tree, bathed in the warm light of sunrise…
all beautifully composed and captured.
First - Terry Bowker (terrybowker)
An usual choice for me, not being much of a portrait photographer myself, Terry takes
me to exotic haunts in this thoughtful moment. Everything about this shot intrigues me.
Is this a holy man or just a local grandfather doing a little shopping? What’s he thinking
about… something truly profound or just what’s for lunch?
With this great shot, I hand off the baton to you Terry. Enjoy your contest!
