First of all, my congratulations to all who joined this theme contest. Secondly, you gave me a headache and a tough time. I checked all photos in their original size, listed down my top 15, narrowed down to top 12, and cut back some more to top 8. I have several favorites that didn't get the cut because I had to limit my list. Then again, I had a nice time viewing all your wonderful galleries. I am looking for uncluttered, minimalist compositions that catch my eye instantly and affect me positively. So here are my final personal picks, and do click on them to appreciate how even more beautiful they are in large view. Rather than focus on composition rules (because I myself do not follow sometimes), I will let my emotions dictate me.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
luxun54 ... serene seascape and warm tones.
Cheryl ... whimsical, delicate, intriguing.
Sandiwhi...bold, solid lines that soar.
Walter (amoxtli)... exquisite patterns reflecting on water.
Sang Chung... it isn't loneliness I see, but a contemplative, zen moment captured so well.
THIRD PLACE
Nickviv... your subject may be dead center, but delicately floating wisps enhances a simple composition and got to me.
SECOND PLACE
The Ellisons... an ethereal landscape fit for some fantasy storybook. Simply serene and magical.
FIRST PLACE
John de Freitas (jcdfreitas) ... there's nothing else to say except that I can't stop looking at it.
Thank you for joining, and congratulations.
