The new contest theme for this week is: NOT JUST HEAD SHOTS

What I am looking for are portraits that tell us more about the subject than just a close up view of the face or profile. At a start this includes environmental portraits, where you see the subject in their home, at work. etc. But my interpretation will be fairly broad to allow a wide range of submissions.

Here are 2 examples to get you started. Below the boy is centered and dominant but the watermelon rind and other kid's faces in the background add important elements to the portrait.

Sure even pet portraits are welcome in this one. The framing of this shot shows a friendly dog comfortably sitting in her chair at home.

How it Works:
1. The host gives a topic.
2. You post up to 3 of your images that go along with the topic.
3. The host chooses the winner 7 days after the contest was started.
4. The winner becomes the host for the next week. If the winner does not post a new contest within 2 days, the 2nd place winner is the new host.

The Rules:
1. Photos must be hosted on pbase.com.
2. Photos must be embedded in your post. See

3. Post only the medium versions of your picture. Larger versions will not be considered.
4. Only enter 3 photos per-contest.
5. The host is not eligible for their own contest.
6. Any picture you've taken is eligible regardless of time taken and camera
